Philly-Based FSV Doubles Down On Soccer Investment

When it comes to soccer, Philadelphia Union investor Richie Graham is among the glass-half-full crowd. Which is a good thing for soccer fans who love great storytelling, from the national team level on down to grassroots programs.

Here is where Graham’s commitment as Principal of For Soccer Ventures (FSV), the recently launched investment team focused on the growth and long-term development of American soccer, rises to the front with today’s announcement of three critical content-driven initiatives, including the first podcast network dedicated to soccer in the U.S.

“There are many diverse voices in American soccer who deserve a new platform to discuss their experiences throughout the vast soccer community,” said Graham. “Podcasting has emerged as a megaphone for storytelling, and we’ve recognized that there is no better way to invest in elevating the American soccer story than to give its future leaders the mic.”

The two anchor podcasts for the nascent network are “Orange Slices,” hosted by emerging US Men’s National Team Player Mark McKenzie and “Best Soccer Show,” with Sirius XM’s Jason Davis and American soccer devotee Jared DuBois on the mic. The two shows form the basis for diverse, engaged storytelling around all aspects of soccer culture in America.

FSV will also partner with vibrant girls soccer community Girls Soccer Network to further broaden its diversity across all lines. FSV’s “Preferred Partnership” status will cover content, production and commercial opportunities likely to be beneficial to both parties.

“We’re thrilled to partner with For Soccer Ventures,” noted GSN founder and editor-in-chief Jen Gruskoff. “The leadership team recognizes the enormous opportunity to help support all the thriving women’s soccer communities across the country and to grow the game for future generations.

“We’ve only scratched the surface from a content and commercial development perspective, and this partnership will help us supercharge our efforts to connect with brands and develop game-changing content platforms,” Grusckoff added.
